The method used to achieve unification is important, but post-unification political-ideological integration and socio-economic-cultural integration are also significant challenges. In this book, the authors take a look at the example of Germany. There, the East and West have long differed in ideology – just as the North and South differ on the Korean Peninsula. The example of Germany provides important implications for imagining the Korean Peninsula post-unification and seeking the right path to unification. The book contains a record of the 20 years following German reunification up until the present. It examines the fields of economics, society, education, research and development, culture, energy, and the environment.
