Book Introduction

This book analyzes the income and consumption life of female North Korean defectors and lays the foundation for effective policy development.

This book organizes the current status of North Korean defectors and related support systems. It also analyzes employment, income, consumer spending behavior and consumer life adaptations of female defectors. It also presents policy alternatives to promote economic independence and welfare for female North Korean defectors. The book could be used as a useful material to raise interest in policies to empower female North Korean defectors and enhance the performance of support policies.
