Book Introduction

After the establishment of different systems in South Korea and North Korea, the two societies have developed in ways that are sometimes mutually exclusive. The two societies in South and North Korea are now heterogeneous in many ways. South Korea is not just different from the North in terms of its political system, but also displays significant differences in values, perceptions and attitudes.

This book starts this very critical mindset. Now that South Korea and North Korea have virtually become two heterogeneous societies, the thoughts and values of the residents on each side of the 38th Parallel will inevitably change in many ways. The differences in social consciousness and perceptions are more pronounced for the younger generation, who have grown up in the absence of experience in mutual contact and exchange.
